RoadSafe groups support the use of the Safer Driving Kit which helps assists businesses to develop and implement safer driving policies including purchasing safer fleet vehicles and educating staff.

The Saferoads initiative aims to reduce the incidence and severity of crashes in municipalities. The initiative is the result of a partnership between the Municipal Association of Victoria (MAV), Local Government Professionals (LGPro), Transport Accident Commission (TAC), Royal Automobile Club of Victoria (RACV), Victoria Police and VicRoads.

RoadSafe and VicRoads work with the Victorian Country Football League to target drink driving in regional Victoria. The partnership aims to:

• Encourage VCFL football and netball clubs to adopt alcohol management policies (eg Good Sports Program) and have members trained in the responsible serving of alcohol.
• Educate football and netball club members about responsible drinking and driving through ‘Looking After Our Mates’ alcohol education sessions.
• Raise awareness of the risks of drink driving within rural Victoria through advertising and promotional activities.

RoadSafe groups raise community awareness of local speed issues as well as advocating for and supporting Government initiatives to reduce speed limits in high-risk locations.
